La Belle Inn - Naivasha Town |
Naivasha Town We are based in Naivasha, a thriving market town on the northern shore of the large freshwater rift valley lake - Lake Naivasha. Land we are selling is all located around Naivasha and it's rift valley environs. Naivasha Town, and its lake, are just under 100kms from Kenya's capital city Nairobi. The journey from Nairobi to Naivasha takes about an hour. Naivasha Town itself has a number of Banks including Barclay's, a post office, two supermarkets, several tourist class hotels and restaurants, five petrol stations including Shell, BP and Total; as well as numerous other shops, services, and several markets. |
Lake Attractions Although enjoying the facilities of a large town, Lake Naivasha itself is home to further attractions including oft spotted Zebra, Giraffe, Antelope, Hippos, monkeys, rock hyrax, and many species of birdlife. Around Naivasha Lake there are a number of five star tourist Lodges and Resorts; other tourist hotels and restaurants; a number of flower and agri farms; several private game reserves; and the geo thermal plant of Ken Gen. Access to 'Hells Gate' National Park can also be found off the South Lake road some 10kms from the Mai - Mahiu junction. There is a second National Park further along the Mai-Mahiu tarmac road - Mount Longonot National Park. |
An Hour Away Naivasha is well located, and has easy tarmac access to a number of landmark sites in Kenya. On the way to the capital city Nairobi - which can be reached in an hour - you climb up hill to the spectacular Rift Valley views - where the savannah plains spread before you. Leaving Naivasha in the opposite direction you pass several Lodges at the next rift valley lake - Lake Elementaita. Then within an hour you have reached Nakuru - Kenya's fourth largest town - with its volcanic rift valley lake and National Park. Heading north out of Naivasha, again on tarmac roads, you will reach the mountain ridges of Aberdares National Park with its abundant game and famous Treetops Lodge. |
